Long Journey

About the project

A collaborative project by 5 artists in San Francisco, Southern California, Boston. Instigated by Candace, all the artists immediately agreed to participate, most without prior knowlege of the others or their work. Each was to start 2 pieces on 12x16 hot pressed water color paper, title the piece, photograph and send on to the next artist on the list. Writing about the piece was optional and there were no rules, or guidlines, at all. Everyone agreed to return the pieces to the orangeland studio and have a show upon completion. As we worked on them it became clear that there was great diversity of styles and methods, but all seemed to me to be a microcosm of the state of the world's interaction, therefore I cal it a visual micrososmic comment on the state of interaction in the world today.
